Healers and Sole Practitioners

Selling By Giving:
How to Give Your Way to a Soul-Centered, Six Figure Practice

If you provide a service to others, and want to build a practice that provides you with both money and meaning, this course can help!

Are you afraid that becoming a business person means you have to give up being a healer?

Do you feel that learning business is like trying to speak a new foreign language?

Moving to Santa Monica from Silicon Valley, I have been repeatedly surprised and struck by the fear and uncertainty so many of my new friends have around business. So many people here are world class healers, coaches, artists, or personal consultants, offering tremendous value to their clients, yet struggling to make ends meet.

In working with my friends and clients, I have found that almost every one of them has been making some of the same fundamental, basic business mistakes, and being held back by some of the same fears and limiting beliefs around making money.

As one of my clients said to me, "Brian, business for you is like swimming for a fish!" In my prior career, I was very successful in business, and I have applied that same expertise in building my successful coaching practice. In doing so, I have created a business model that enables healers and sole practitioners to dramatically increase their ability to reach and serve more clients — and get paid well for doing it!

Core Coaching Can Help You:

Avoid The Nine Fatal Business Mistakes. For example, while most people focus on their nominal hourly rate (what they bill clients), what matters most is your real hourly rate (your total receipts divided by the number of hours you work). Many practitioners are charging $100-$150 an hour, yet their real hourly rate is less than $15!

Market Yourself From A Service Ethic. There are two ways to do sales — the "sleazy used car salesman" model, and the service model. The most successful salespeople in business are the ones who are champions for their customers, even over their companies short term profits. If you really care about serving your clients, you are responsible for helping them find out about you, and the value you can provide them! If you read through this web site, you will hopefully notice some examples of how that can work.

Resolve Your Conflicts Between Money and Service. Many of us hold deeply ingrained limiting beliefs around money, such as "making money isn't spiritual", "money is the root of all evil", or "I can't charge people for exercising my spiritual gifts." Hogwash! If you want to the help the poor, you can do much more good if you are rich, rather than also being poor. The key is learning how to make your business success serve your service ethic — and Core Coaching can show you how.

90/10 Time Investment. 90% of our results come from 10% of our activities — but which 10%? By stripping each area down to its core issues, Core Coaching can help you leverage your investments in to that magic 10%.

Turn Your Network In To Sales Advocates. The most effective form of marketing — by far — is through word of mouth and networks of trust. The friends of your friends — and the friends of those friends — are your number one set of target customers. Core Coaching can show you how to use those networks to connect your clients with you, in an ethical, easy, win/win/win way.

Position Yourself Effectively In Your Market. Most people, like most startups, position themselves at one of two extremes. They either want to be unique, and claim they have no competitors — in which case no one can find them — or they position themselves as a generic service — and turn themselves in to a commodity. Core Coaching can help you position your company for success.

If you think this would be of value to you, drop me a line! Time permitting, I am always happy to help out a colleague. And, even if you don't have the capital to invest in individual coaching right now (by the way, underinvestment is one of the nine fatal business mistakes), there are so many people I meet with this challenge, that I will soon be forming a group seminar in this area.

Most “solopreneurs” are crippled by the same set of basic, fundamental business mistakes. These are easy to change, if you just know how!

“Brian, thank you again for your professional focus to help me grow my business and projects beyond what I had previously understood or thought possible. Your gifts and skills in the business arena are invaluable.”
